Editorial policy
This page says who writes what you read here, how figures are verified, what is checked automatically before anything ships, and — the part most sites leave out — what has not been checked at all.
Who writes this
Guides, answers and service pages here are drafted with AI assistance and edited against primary sources — the bare Act, the rule, and the department's own notifications and circulars — by the India Law Simplified editorial team. No individual chartered accountant or advocate has reviewed this content yet. When one does, their name, credential and registration number will appear on the pages they reviewed and in the structured data, because an unnamed reviewer is not a credential.
How a figure gets onto a page
Every statutory constant used on this site — slab rates, the section 87A rebate, the standard deduction, capital-gains rates and exemption limits, TDS thresholds, GST registration limits — is defined once in code and shared by the calculators and the written guidance. A rate therefore cannot be current in a calculator and stale in an article beside it. The build fails if a page states a superseded figure for a set of provisions we track, and every quoted amount carries the assessment year it belongs to.
What we check before publishing
Automated checks run on the built site, not on intentions: every indexable page must carry exactly one title, meta description, canonical and h1; internal links must resolve; the sitemap must contain only live, indexable URLs; JSON-LD must parse; no page may state a statutory figure we know to be superseded; and calculator results are asserted against hand-checked worked examples rather than against the implementation. There are over five hundred such checks and they run on every change.
What we do NOT check, and you should
Nothing here has been reviewed by a practising chartered accountant or advocate. Indian tax and criminal law change frequently — the Finance Act each year, and the wholesale renumbering of the criminal codes in 2024 — and content that was accurate when written can be wrong later. We do not know your residential status, your state, what you have already filed, or what the other side has done, and every one of those can change the answer. Verify anything material against the official portal or with a professional before you act on it.
Corrections
If you find something on this site that is out of date or wrong, we would rather hear about it than have it quietly relied on. Write to privacy@onefiling.in with the page and what is incorrect. Corrections are made to the page itself rather than appended as a note, and the page's date in our sitemap advances only when its content actually changes — so a recent date means the content moved, not that the site was rebuilt.
Independence and money
The calculators, guides and AI agents are free and there is no signup wall to ask a question. We do not take payment to feature a service, to rank a provider above another, or to write about a product. Where a page suggests engaging a professional, that is because the matter warrants one, not because a referral is being sold.
